Easy Coffee Table Styling

I just changed over our coffee table decor from Christmas to winter and it got me thinking that I almost always use the same items when I style our coffee table. SO, I wanted to share them in a post for you all!

I love having a candle on our coffee table for so many reasons. Even though I'm bias because of my obsession with candles, I honestly think coffee tables are the perfect spot for a candle in any home. I always switch up our candles with the change of seasons and our apartment is so much cozier at night when we are on the couch with a candle lit!

I can't say enough about trays - but I'll keep this one short. I love them. Whenever I style with a tray, everything that I put on it feels SO much more put together. So, it's safe to say that using one never disappoints.

We have A. LOT. of books in our apartment, which is great because I love to use books when I decorate. In a perfect world, I would only decorate with books that have some sort of meaning to us or that we've read - but, I'd be lying if I said we did that. Some of the books we've read and some I've bought solely to decorate with (most times at thrift stores because they are SO cheap there). Either way, I think that everything looks better on books (kinda like trays).

I've seen so many cute coasters recently like these and these anddd was really tempted to buy some new ones, but decided I should just stick with what I have for now. Anyways, I always use them on my coffee table because 1) they are obviously practical and 2) I think (because there are so many cool designs) you can use them to bring out some of your personality in your home.

This is actually a new one for me, because I've never decorated my coffee table with a plant (that's on the larger side). The plant that we have on our coffee table now, I bought with the intention of using it for our kitchen table. I ended up trying it out on the coffee table and thought it fit so much better there - so now this is definitely something I will be using to style my coffee table with more often!

Lastly, I like to get festive with the seasons and holidays. With Christmas just having passed and a couple more months of winter still ahead, I added a wood bead garland and a candle in a mercury glass jar. Both of which (I would say) can probably be kept year round, but I think they add a winter coziness to the room.

The last tip that I have and one that I always follow is to style your home in a way that feels right to you! There are so many 'dos and don'ts' out there, but when it comes down to it, I don't think you need to follow all the rules to create a space that feels like home. I find myself looking on Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration, but always end up doing something slightly different than what I had originally thought I would do. With that being said, I think those differences are what makes each of our homes and style unique to us.
